High-quality editing driven by skills and experience

I’ve edited for an independent publisher and been the editor of a literary journal, working on published books and pieces from developmental editing to proofreading. I also have a CIEP certification in copy editing, and I’m an author with two books published by Penguin. Not only does this mean I know what makes a good story, I also have unique insight into and experience of the editing process for a Big Five publisher.

Editing tailored to marginalized authors

As a queer and neurodivergent editor, I love to work with other marginalized authors. I specialize in LGBTQ+ books of any genre, but all authors will find a safe, understanding place here. You don’t have to be afraid of judgement and you don’t need to justify your writing choices. And if you’re not a marginalized author, I’ll check for stereotypes and do my best to make sure you don’t unintentionally cause harm.

Cheerleading and ongoing support

I’m not here to make you feel bad about your book or only point out what could use some improvement - my favourite part of this job is to tell you how amazing and excellent your writing is. I’ll always do my best to make you feel confident about what you’ve written, and my support doesn’t stop when the service is over. You can always reach out to me if you have questions about any of my comments or are considering any changes you’d like my thoughts on.

Anti-AI stance

I know my current prices can seem too good to be true, and in today’s climate, authors are absolutely valid in being worried that editors will use AI to perform their service. I guarantee I’m not one of them - all editing will be done by me alone, and no AI will ever be used.

Free sample edit

Sharing your book with a stranger can be daunting, and so is signing up for and paying for a service when you’re not sure what you’ll get out of it. I want you to be 100% sure I’m the right fit for you, so I will provide a free sample edit of 1,000 words so you can get a sense for my style, thoughts and ideas before you commit to anything.
